Notes: I was trying to work out a nicely flowing dance with a Gents chain, the afternoon before a dance I was to call with the Usual Suspects (a GREAT Maine band). I wanted a Gents chain into a 1/2 hey. That's all that remains here of the original "Suspect Reel". After Kathryn Wedderburn called Chart Guthrie's "Hey in the Barn" at the NOMAD festival in Connecticut on Nov 9, I started thinking about the "New Suspect Reel". I like the swing into a Gents chain. After the Ladies chain in B2, everyone is in progressed position so the final figure is a neutral move but seems a little like a hey to preserve the "symmetry". Written on the way to Scrod Pudding's Bowdoinham dance on Nov 15, 1997.
